A pesquisa artística de Beatriz Monteiro orbita em torno da fotografia como espaço dual de memória e esquecimento: um espaço insuficiente e subjetivo, sujeito a ocultações, distorções e ressignificações. Em gestos de caráter arqueológico, Beatriz se debruça sobre o passado que permanece, seja ele um lugar, um objeto ou uma imagem. Criando diálogos entre suas pequenas arqueologias e seus achados naturais, Beatriz tece poesias visuais sobre os afetos humanos, suas vidas, mortes e frustrações. Poesias que alargam o passado e seus suportes através da energia criadora de relacionar imagens e se relacionar com elas, intervindo, reenquadrando, sobrepondo, justapondo. É formada em Fotografia pela Panamericana Escola de Arte e Design e participante dos grupos de estudo e mentoria do Ateliê Fotô e da artista visual Sylvia Sanchez. Em 2019, realizou sua primeira exposição individual, no MIS-SP, e as obras expostas passaram a integrar o acervo do museu.
Beatriz Monteiro's artistic research focuses on photography as a dual space of memory and oblivion: an insufficient and subjective space, susceptible to occultations, distortions, and re-significations. In gestures of an archeological character, Beatriz delves into the past that remains, whether it is a place, an object, or an image. Creating dialogues between her small archeology and her natural finds, Beatriz weaves visual poetry about human affections, their lives, deaths, and frustrations. Poetries that expand the past through the creative energy of relating images and relating to them, intervening, reframing, overlapping, juxtaposing. She is a graduate in Photography from Panamericana School of Art and Design and a participant in the study and mentoring groups of Ateliê Fotô and of Sylvia Sanchez. In 2019, she held her first solo exhibition, at MIS-SP, and her works on the exhibition became part of the museum's collection.
